Sex Diary

Based on the 1963 Novel “The Sex Diary of a Metaphysician” by Colin Wilson, “Sex Diary” is a gripping blend of fiction, philosophy, and sex - laced with black magic.
London 1957. Gerard Sorme is a writer who believes the orgasm is a key to achieving a higher state of existence. He details sexual exploits in a diary – a journal that brings us face to face with the paradoxes of male sexuality.

He enjoys a frank but unfulfilling relationship with Caroline Nunn, a young actress. But Gerard is unrepentant that his sexual attention cannot be confined to one woman.

When Caroline finds him in bed with another woman, Gerard knows things have to change. He moves into larger rooms thanks to a pay off from a wealthy family with a dark secret – a secret he has promised to keep.

Gerard’s quest for knowledge leads him into a friendship with a notorious magician, Caradoc Cunningham, who claims he can help in Gerard’s search for enlightenment. But Cunningham has enemies who are powerful masters of the dark arts.

Gerard meets married woman – Diana - who instantly takes his attention. She is unhappy in her marriage, her husband is a self-obsessed composer who makes no contribution to his home. With Cunningham’s help, Gerard discovers that Diana is equally attacted to him. When they make love, Gerard experiences a power he has never felt before: Love.
Gerard enlists Cunningham’s help to undo her marriage. But Cunningham has his own reasons for helping Gerard. Cunningham’s enemies are using magical forces to attack him, and so he needs to form a covern to strengthen his defences. He also needs a medium – a talent he has recognised in Diana.

Now that Gerard has found love with Diana, his search has changed; he does not want to be involved with Cunningham’s magical rituals. Nonetheless, he is in debt to Cunningham and reluctantly agrees to take part in the ritual. Almost immediately, the group are attacked by Cunningham’s enemies using their magical powers. The danger is very real – much of it focused on Diana - and Gerard realises he must protect Diana at all costs.

When a demonic presence materialises in the room, Gerard has to find a way to take control and protect Diana. His belief in the power of the mind holds the answer and Gerard and Diana finally manage to escape, leaving Cunningham to face the Demon alone. But Gerard has accidentally left his Sex Diary behind.

Shortly after, the Sex Diary is serialised in the national newspapers, causing scandal to the wealthy family Gerard swore to protect. Diana and Gerard are forced to flee to the far reaches of Cornwall, to escape the blaze of publicity that ensues when the story breaks.

Gerard decides to publish the diary and set the record straight.
